Who We Are
Hong Tran, CFP®
Managing Partner, Investment Advisor Representative
Hong Tran is a managing partner & investment advisor representative. He is responsible for the daily operations of the company's financial planning services. Hong’s primary duties include portfolio management and financial plan implementations.
Prior to founding the predecessor firm, Hong Tran Financial in 2002, Hong worked for Century Management, a money management firm in Austin, Texas.
Hong graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and went on to obtain his Certified Financial Planner® designation in 2005. Hong was selected as a content specialist for the CFP® Board in 2008. He was also a CFP® Annual Meeting panelist in 2006.
Hong was born in Vietnam, but was raised in Texas. He is married and has two children. In his free time, Hong is an avid rock climber and has climbed all over the United States including Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and West Virginia. He has also climbed in Mexico, Canada, and Thailand. During his free time, Hong is a PATH volunteer.
David Chung

Managing Partner, Investment Advisor Representative
David Chung is a managing partner & investment advisor representative. He is responsible for the daily operations of the company's financial planning services. David’s primary duties include research & analysis of portfolios and assisting in the implementation & execution of investment strategies. David is also the president of Transparent Financial, Inc., a real estate brokerage and property management company.
Prior to founding the predecessor firm, Wealth Management Coach, LLC in 2005, David was an investment advisor with Castle Group Investment Counsel Inc., where he provided financial planning services to clients. David started his financial career as a financial consultant with Fortune Securities, Inc. While at Fortune Securities, he assisted clients in analysis of investments, insurance and risk management services.
Preceding his foray into the financial advisory profession, David was the founder & president of Mini Market Inc. He managed and operated two business divisions that provided steady cash flow while accomplishing the following goals: increased monthly revenue at Tony's Mini Market, a division of Mini Market Inc., an average of 30% per year by creating and implementing new strategic plans. David also introduced new products to compliment existing products and resources at Wireless Central, a division of Mini Market Inc.
David developed his research background and skills as an economic research analyst with the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC). While at the LAEDC, David conducted primary and secondary research for Jack Kyser, chief economist. He also assisted in hosting the Annual Eddy Awards Banquet and the Annual Los Angeles Economic Venture Forum. David contributed to the development of many publications such as: Roadmap to Industry Clusters, the Essential Business Resource Guide, Demographic Profiles of Cities in Los Angeles County, Largest Employers in the Los Angeles Five-County Area.
David graduated fromCalifornia State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and an emphasis in finance. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker, Life Agent, and Property and Casualty Broker. David also holds a Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 66 (The Uniform Combined State Law Examination). He has Public Notary Commission and is currently a CFA level II candidate.
In his free time, David enjoys participating and watching a variety of sports such as basketball, gymnastics, yoga, baseball, and football. He volunteers as a tutor (in finance and accounting at California State University, Pomona), youth basketball coach (at the YMCA) and as Reserve Deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department (Temple Station).
Barron Yanaga JD, MBA, CPA, CFA, CFP®
Barron Yanaga is an investment advisor representative and provides comprehensive and modular investment, tax, and legal advice to our clients.
Prior to founding the predecessor firm, Wealth Management Coach, LLC in 2005, Barron provided advisory services as an estate planning attorney, and business consultant.
Barron was appointed as a faculty professor at Pasadena City College in 2006. He also serves as an adjunct faculty professor at California State University , Los Angeles , California State University, Pomona and California State University , Fullerton . Barron teaches a variety of finance, accounting and law courses such as Investments, Managerial & Corporate Finance and Principals of Accounting. Barron has taught at Woodbury University , Occidental College and University of Phoenix .
Over the past 20 years, Barron provided estate and financial planning for individuals, and families. He has also worked as an attorney and business consultant for numerous private and public companies including Nissan Motors USA, Sanyo/Fisher USA, and Paccar. Barron was the Controller for Pace Enterprises where he provided financial management of a Leveraged Buy Out (LBO). At Peat Marwick, Barron worked on a wide range of consulting engagements and gained experience in tax and audit. He was a senior consultant and specialized in mergers and acquisitions and financial systems.
Barron Yanaga holds a Juris Doctor and Masters of Arts degree in economics (JD/MA) from the University of Southern California . He also earned a Master of Business Administrations degree with an emphasis in finance from the University of Rochester . In addition, Barron holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV). He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), and a Certified Systems Professional (CSP).
Barron earned a Certificate in Management Accounting (CMA), a Certificate of Educational Achievement in Business Valuation (NBV), a Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and a Certificate in Estate Planning from the California Society of CPAs. He is a Diplomate for American Board of Forensic Accounting and a member of the California Bar.
Barron is a native Californian, born and raised in Los Angeles . He is married and has two daughters. In his free time, Barron is an avid sports fan, attending University of Southern California (USC) sports events for over 20 years with his friends and family. He is a volunteer coach for youth baseball and basketball.
